I’ve been practicing on 1” tube to make simple 90” bends and still can’t get my calculations right.
I am making running boards for my truck. I need a 90, straight, then another 90.
the total outside dimension needs to be 108”. I am using 2” tube on a 6.5 clr.
I need a 8” piece that flows into a 90, then a strait piece of x length likely 90” or so, then another 90 bend and the same 8” piece.
Could anyone give me a hand. Every time I practice with a smaller tube I am off on the calculated outside dimension.
Using the design calculator for a U bend with 108" outside to outside with a tube diameter of 2"
I am doing the following-
leg length of 12"
Middle of Tube is 104" (108-2-2=104")
CLR 6.0"
I cut 122.6" of tube
Place the clamp blocks at 39.9" from the centerline and bend away.
Thanks for the calculator- I wish I had seen it earlier!!
Sorry we had some issues with the calculators. We had our IT team fixing it. I am glad it helped out - Josh in customer service
